What
to Do If You are Injured:

you or a loved one have been hurt
while employed by the railroad, you
need to take certain steps and precautions,
to ensure that your rights to compensation
under FELA are protected.
Report
the injury to your supervisor and complete
the report form. Be as complete as
possible, including all possible causes,
factors, and conditions connected to the
injury.
Medical
Treatment:
Fortunately,
your employer will often give you emergency
medical attention and treatment.
However, you should also seek an independent
medical evaluation by a doctor. Be
sure to keep copies of any medical records,
bills, and other documents related to your
injury.
Your
FELA Claim Personal Injury Report:
In
addition to the report made to your employer
, make a separate report for your own us
that includes all possible information that
may or may not be in employer's report.
Be sure to note also the names of anyone
who may have witnessed the events related
to incident.
